Home to a private college, Davidson, the aptly named town is the wealthiest town in North Carolina.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates the population to be around 12,700, with residents being one of two towns in the Tar Heel state that boast six-figure salaries as the average.

The Census Bureau found that Davidson’s residents claimed a median income of $109,907 – more than double the $48,256 salary for the average North Carolinian.

Even more remarkable is that 25.5% of Davidson’s households earned more than $200,000,  compared tot he state’s 3.9%.
